Hi Ladies (sorry to exclude the men!  ) There has been a question elsewhere about where to get front fastening bras? Does any one have any good recommendations as M & S no longer do them. I guess it would be helpful to have high street shops as well as online places. I know some maternity bras would fit the bill - but I'm not sure where you get these from these days. I used to have some from Mothercare with front fastening (zip ones are now good for RA people) - but it doesn't exist round where I live any more!! Now to get some breakfast!! Anne

Hi Anne,
To avoid throwing out valuable underwear, new technique I've adopted. Put your bra on back to front, do up then move it round to pole position, pull up, bob's your uncle. To undress, remove straps turn bra round to the front and undo, or get somebody else to help you undress! OK as long as fingers allow for fiddly clasp fastening. Good luck with breakfast and getting dressed!

Hi Sara just thinking, i have always put my bra on back to front then turned it round as you say. I dont know why because ive only had RA for about six years. I didnt have any problems so i dont know why i did. I never thought about it till i read your post. Kathleen Mc.

It was something my mother showed me once, went out of use when nimble fingered but has come back in handy of late! Its amazing how many things are stuffed in the back of our heads that hark back to formative years. I was cutting the cucumber sandwiches for the street party on Fiday and hubby was amazed that I stacked the sandwiches white then brown then insisted on struggling to cut though 8 rounds of sarnies. Yes you've guessed it, my mother always did it that way for my birthday parties! As well as my favourite, egg mayonnaise with blackcurrant jam, glad I grew out of that one!

go to a good bra shop but i don,t think you will be able to buy but a good fit that does up the back from the front ??? or you could try mother care feeding bra my friend always wears them yuk but they might do some with shape ??? or look for these adverts amose wilson ????sometimes they do them but nightmare for me i am too big and these companys pester . also try darmart but watch as they pester chris The chocolate eating housewife ...The washer woman .....naughty lady

I always do my bra up at the front and swivel it around I don't appear to always have the
strength to do it any other way

I do the same, do up uat the front and swivel round. I've never been able to do it any other way.
Just a thought, Ambrose Wilson do a good range of bra's and i always get my cotton ones from them as i am a smeaty bugger and get a rash under the boobs if i wear nylon. They are available on line or you can order a catalogue.

I have always done the swivelling thing but it is so painful now because my shoulders won't go backwards to swivel without creasing me. Even worse trying to get it off. If I find a shop will let you know.

got another swivel one here,try premierman.co.uk catalogue i find them very good and can shop online, i use them because i am a 25 trouser leg and they do from 25 to 31 worth a look.

The M&S online shop seems to still do the front opening bra - ref T338002. It's ok swivelling to get bra on - but then how do you get it off as much more difficult to swivel it back again at end of day?

i find it harder to swivel as i wear underwired one's, think it's cos my tummy is plump .. lol,  sort of Apple shaped, i just about manage but always make sure i only have a two fastener one and not three, i get fitted at Bravissimo, Suzanne x

getting it off i have stitched littlte ribbons at the sides to pull it round and push it off my shoulders with the egg flipper,there are ways girl,

Hi Anne, I also do the swivelling round thing with bras, also i cant stand wearing under wired bras any more due to rib pain. Try figleaves.com i don't know if they have any front fastening ones but they do have alot of choice anyway, and their service is really good.

I do the swivelling thing too, but yes it can be tricky when shoulders are bad. My Mum had a shoulder injury and has been doing hers up then stepping into it and pulling it straight up. Well 'stepping' whilst sat down. Maybe that might work for some peeps...
